Pacific Trustees Berhad is governed and managed by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors of the Trust Company is committed to upholding good corporate governance practices to protect the interests of the Company’s shareholders.
The Board is collectively responsible for the long-term success of the Trust Company. The Board works with Management to achieve this objective and the Management remains accountable to the Board.
The primary role of the Board is to protect and enhance long-term shareholders’ value and to ensure that the Trust Company is run in accordance with best international management and corporate governance practices, appropriate to the needs and development of the Trust Company.
Apart from its statutory duties and responsibilities, the Board oversees the management and affairs of the Trust Company and approves important business decisions involving the Company’s corporate strategy and directions. The Board has the overall responsibility for reviewing the strategic plans and performance objectives, financial plans and annual budget, key operational initiatives, major funding and investment proposals, financial performance reviews and corporate governance practices.
In delegating responsibility for the day-to-day operation and leadership of the Trust Company to the Chief Executive Officer (“CEO’) and the Management team, the Board has processes and systems in place to ensure that significant issues, risks and major strategic decisions are monitored and considered at Board level.
We have nine (9) directors with varied experience and qualifications. Among them are Former Chief Judge of Sabah & Sarawak and Federal Court Judge; Former Attorney General of Malaysia; Former Capital Debt Market Regulator; Former Banker and Former Advocate & Solicitor.
