Encik Razak Bin Ahmad holds an Advanced Diploma in Accountancy from University Technology Mara, Shah Alam. He started his career as an Executive Officer with Bank Negara Malaysia in 1978. In 1994, he joined PJB Capital Holdings Sdn Bhd (a subsidiary of Johor Corporation) as Deputy Manager. In 1996, he was appointed the Assistant Head of the Securities Commission Malaysia, serving in various departments. In 2007 to 2013, he was an Executive Director with Efficient Frontier Capital Advisors Sdn Bhd. Encik Razak was appointed a Director of Pacific Trustees Berhad on 31 October 2007, and became the Chief Executive Officer on 25 October 2017.
Edward Cheah graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Oxford Brookes University in 2016. He attended a web-development boot camp organized by NEXT Academy in 2016, where he learned to do front- and back-end web development. He also received an Entrepreneurship certificate from Bond University Australia’s “Innovation as Strategy” in 2016. He also attended and received training from Dr. Heldi Heron from the worldwide Institutes of Neuro-Linguistics Programming (NLP).
Edward joined Pacific Trustees Berhad as an intern on 30 July 2012, and was appointed Management Trainee on 28 January 2014. He was promoted to Management Executive on 28 May 2014, and subsequently to Manager in the Managing Director’s Office on 20 April 2015.
He has experience in Marketing and Operations, Human Resource, Administration and Finance. He is also involved in the day-to-day company operations, focusing on Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), Interest Schemes, Private Debt Security (PDS) and Private Wealth. He also works closely with the Managing Director and the CEO.
Tan Beng Hong , who holds a Trustee Diploma from the Associate Institute of Bankers (London), joined Pacific Trustees Berhad in December 2011 as Business Development Manager. His career spans 40 years, having served in managerial positions in five trustee companies, namely HSBC (Malaysia) Trustees Berhad, Maybank Trustees Berhad, PB Trustee Services Berhad and Pacific Trustees Berhad. He is conversant in diverse areas such as Private Debt Securities, Asset-Backed Securitisation, Unit Trust Schemes, Real Estate Investment Trusts, Golf/Recreational Clubs and Timeshare Schemes, Memorial Parks, Will Writing Services, Executorship/Estate Planning, Private Trust/Insurance Trust and Trust-Funded ESOS and Share Grant Plans.
Ms Chuah Guat Mey, joined Pacific Trustees Berhad in September 2018 as General Manager, Client Coverage. She graduated with a Bachelor in Management (Honours) majoring in Finance from University Science of Malaysia in 1997 and subsequently completed her post-graduate Masters in Business Administration (MBA) majoring in Finance with the University of Malaya in 2003. In addition, she is also equipped with professional qualifications as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) from the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM) as well as Certified Credit Professional (Business Credit) and Certification in Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) from the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB).
Ms. Chuah has over 20 years of commercial and corporate banking experience, largely in credit and marketing. Besides frontline exposure, she also gained experience in middle office and compliance functions, namely heading a foreign bank’s Commercial Banking Portfolio Management Team and also its Commercial Banking Customer Due Diligence and Onboarding Team.
She started her career as a Management Trainee in Pacific Bank Berhad. On completing the programme, she joined Citibank Berhad as Business Development Manager, and was subsequently made a Team Leader. Prior to joining Pacific Trustees Berhad, she was the Country Head of Commercial Banking Customer Due Diligence and Onboarding Team in HSBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad.
Richard Chan , is recognised for his high level of integrity, customer service and ability to form partnerships with executive teams and business owners to achieve short and long-range business objectives. His background includes being senior manager in human resource (HR) management in leading organisations within Hume Industries (M) Berhad (HIMB) group of companies for 25 years (1971-1996). HIMB is a public listed company under the Hong Leong Group. Subsequently he was appointed Director/Vice President of Human Resources of the Titan Group, the largest integrated petrochemical and polyolefin producer in Malaysia for eight years (1996-2004).
Richard is known as an agent of change and a specialist in handling adverse and trying human resource situations, helping to foster integration challenges and opportunities of harmonious relationships between management and employees.
He has extensive knowledge in all areas of human resources; implementation of HR systems, system application product (SAP) in HR modules, executive and leadership development programmes, industrial relations as well as labour unions; chairman-joint consultative committee (JCC) as part of a third-party intervention programme.
Richard’s key to successful contribution is the ability to have a strategic overview of company goals while being able, as required, to be a tactical “hands-on” coach, project leader and to conduct training for all levels of management and HR teams.
He now works as a HR and Talent Management Consultant for Pacific Trustees Berhad.
Madam Mari-Len Ngu , Managing Director, Head of Group Regional Client Coverage, has 17 years of experience in the Trust and Fiduciary industry as well as Corporate Governance. She has led Private Client teams in Hong Kong, Singapore and Jersey Channel Islands, working physically to develop international workflows and processes within those jurisdictional applicable laws and practices. In 2014, she headed the Corporate Secretarial, APAC at TMF Group (formerly Equity Trust) where her experience included International Corporate Structure planning in cross-border transactions and business expansion.
Mari-Len has been interviewed by the Edge Weekly and was a keynote speaker at international events in Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh and Bangkok, among others, sharing her expertise and experience on Wealth Management/ Labuan International Business and Financial Centre (IBFC) structures, as well as its commercial and financial products, essentially to promote Labuan IBFC as the preferred mid-shore jurisdiction in Asia.
She holds Diploma in International Trust Management from the Central Law Training, United Kingdom; Advance Diploma in Trust Law and Practice, Company Law and Practice, Trustee Investment & Financial Appraisal and Trust Accounting for both STEP and London Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Mari-Len is a full member of STEP, and serves as Treasurer of its Malaysian Branch since 2016. She is also a Council Member of the Association of Labuan Trust Companies, serving as Treasurer in 2016 to 2020.
Mari-Len is an Approved Trust Officer under the Labuan Financial Services and Securities Act, 2010. Prior to joining Pacific Trustees Group International, she was the Director, Head of Labuan Business for the Tricor Group.
